DIY Advent 9: Spice Up an Old Dress
The dress (or Longtop) was prior to spice up a free giveaway of the Greek fashion magazine ELLE. The fabric is elastic and the dress is very comfortable to wear, but unfortunately also quite boring. Since I recently had purchased some colorful T-shirt materials, I thought that they would fit perfectly to my Greek dress. The idea was born and during the work I got the inspirations how to design the patterns.
Since I am often asked for Do-it-Yourself Ideas for Beginners: This project is very simple and only takes out a little snipping and braiding and some imagination. Or you can follow my step-by-step instructions ;-)

This Do It Yourself Guide does require some time and patience, but it’s worth it. The result is a shoe jewelry that can be taken away and therefore you can spice up various shoes (pumps, sandals and Mary Janes).
From this shoe ornaments I made 3 pairs, the first prototype, in which I have “practiced” I will keep myself and the other two pairs will be given away as Christmas gifts to dear friends. DIY Advent 6: An Old Sweater Becomes a Skirt
As the little “before” picture above shows, there was a cogent reason for me to alter this sweater. I can only say that it was not always so short, but by an “accident” it has shrunk in the wash. Due to the great pattern, I did not have the heart to throw it away and came up with the idea with the skirt. Last year I bought a corsage, of which (by my inattention) the zipper broke before the first time wearing. I have promptly brought a new corsage, and from the old I made two new brooches by myself.
